PI²M works in action-research fields, organised into two scientific axes and two cross-cutting components.
Land & aromatic plants
Agroecology, cosmetopoeia, ethnopharmacopoeia, nutraceuticals. Study of aromatic, perfume and medicinal plants: aroma analysis, valorisation studies, impact studies, internal variability, processes, advice on transformation processes.
Marine environment
Aquaculture, study of recruitment dynamics, boosting marine research, pooling innovative projects, scientific training in the study of specific environments, explorations.
Network & advice
Boosting innovation across the territory, advisory work with processors and their governing bodies, development of an international network.
Training & transmission
Hosting interns, PhD candidates and post-docs, helping to set up studies in partnership with local organisations (associations, economic clusters…), outreach to schools.
Overseas Innovation Plan
The Overseas Innovation Plan aims to support and promote innovative solutions addressing the specific challenges of overseas territories. Winner of this call for projects alongside our lead partner ADIM, and with the support of the Department of Mayotte, PI²M is implementing several “green” and “blue” projects to enhance the territory’s specific assets, strengthen the link between scientific research and economic development, and foster training and education — in a territorial, partnership-based and cross-cutting approach.
